How the Work Goes

Engineering
Frames and reinforced wall segments are engineered — sized to your specific house. We coordinate the engineering as part of the project.

Fabrication
Steel is fabricated to the engineer's drawings and welded to spec.

Install
We cut and pour new footings, set and anchor the frame or build the reinforced walls, and tie them into the structure above.

Document
Photo-documented from footing to finish, with the engineering drawings in your records package.

I have a room over my garage. Is that a problem?
It's a common weak point. A wide garage opening leaves little wall to resist side-to-side movement, and the room above rides on it. The fix is an engineered steel frame or reinforced wall segments around the opening — a well-solved problem we scope at the evaluation.
What's the difference between a steel frame and reinforced walls?
Reinforced wall segments are wood-framed walls sheathed with structural plywood — strong, simple, and cheaper, but they need width to work. A steel moment frame provides the same resistance while staying open, which is what makes it fit around a garage door. If wall segments fit your layout, they're usually the better-value answer.
Does this work require an engineer?
Yes. Steel frames are always engineered — sized to your house's specific loads. We coordinate the engineering as part of the project.
